Islamabad: Supreme Court (SC) while giving benefit of doubt to accused Muhammad Iqbal in drug case nullified his conviction and ordered to release him.

The court abolished the 10 years conviction of the accused.

During the hearing of the case Justice Musarrat Hilali inquired from state counsel what the stance of government on recovery of 1400 grams drugs.

The state counsel took the plea drugs were recovered from Mirpur Khas.

Justice Musarrat Hilali while raising question over delay in the case remarked drugs were sent to forensic laboratory after the delay of 15 days.

Justice Musarrat Hilali remarked 2 Pathan judges are there in the bench today. We Pathans are already ill reputed in drugs.

The court ordered to release the accused on the basis of lacuna.
