ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court (SC) while dismissing the petition against imposition of regulatory duty on raw material has remarked we will not interfere in the fiscal policy of the government.Justice Mansoor Ali Shah remarked federal government can impose regulatory duty. This is policy matter of federation. This has to be resolved by the federal government upon what material regulatory duty has to be imposed.He gave these remarks while hearing the appeal pleas against imposition of regulatory duty on the raw material imported from other countries for the packing of cloth.The counsel for the petitioner remarked imposing regulatory duty on the raw material used for packing is discriminatory treatment.Justice Ayesha Malik remarked our job is not to see financial policy.Justice Mansoor Ali Shah remarked federal government can impose regulatory duty. SC as court cannot hold talks regarding regulatory duty.The court dismissed the appeal against high court decision.Earlier Sindh High Court had rejected petition against imposition of regulatory duty on raw material.
