SC seeks reply from govt on shifting MHNP to interior ministry, details of housing project


Islamabad: Supreme Court (SC) has sought reply from government on shifting Margalla Hills National Park (MHNP) to interior ministry besides summoning details of housing project established on Margalla Hills.

Attorney General (AG) assured the court for sacking Rana Saeed and bringing the matter of shifting of National Park to the notice of Prime Minister (PM).

Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Qazi Faez Isa while expressing resentment over calling PM as Sahb by secretary cabinet remarked break the chains of slavery. It is not Wazir Azam Sahb. If you say Shahbaz Sharif Sahb then it is understandable.

He gave these remarks during hearing of case pertaining to commercial activities in Margalla National Park on Friday.

Secretary cabinet, AG and owner of private hotel appeared in the court.

The CJP remarked AG , you don’t know how the things are happening.

Secretary cabinet said he had not sent summary of transferring national park to interior ministry. PM himself had issued order which did not reach me.

On the assurance of AG SC adjourned the hearing of the case till August 15.
