Islamabad: Supreme Court (SC) has stopped trial court from indicting journalist Mati Ullah Jan in the case seeking abolition of terrorism clauses against journalist.

SC has directed Islamabad High Court (IHC) to fix and decide soon the case seeking court's order to drop terrorism clauses against journalist Mati Ullah Jan. Qadeer Janjua advocate appeared in the court on behalf Mati Ullah Jan.

Prosecution did not raise objection on the matter of giving direction by SC to IHC. Deputy prosecutor said we have no objection if court gives direction. Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar remarked then charge cannot be provided till decision.

The journalist Mati Ullah Jan had filed petition in trial court seeking court's order for dropping terrorism clauses against him. The decision of trial court regarding rejection of plea has been challenged in IHC.
