SC upholds decision of life imprisonment to murderer of woman

ISLAMABAD:Supreme Court (SC) while dismissing the appeal pleas of the criminal Muhammad Azhar who had killed woman over property dispute has upheld high court decision for commuting the death sentence to life imprisonment.

Justice Ishtiaq Ibrahim issued written decision of the case.

As per case two prosecution witnesses included son of the victim lady and brother in law.

Some difference was found in the number of injuries during the statements of the witnesses and medical evidence.

SC maintained in its decision human senses and capability of observation are affected in the state of fear and terror. A nominal difference in medical and eye witness does not affect the truth of the statement.

The court maintained expectation of highly macroscopic and second to second correction from the witnesses is unnatural. Because every man shows different reaction in the sudden tragic situation in different ways. Remembering correct number of bullets in the state of fear is beyond human limits.

It is pertinent to mention here that the criminal Muhammad Azhar shot dead the victim woman by entering into home in 2017 over property dispute.

The trial court had announced death sentence to the accused in this case besides acquitting co-accused.

Later high court had commuted death sentence into life imprisonment.
