Islamabad: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Yahya Afridi has raised questions on Lahore High Court (LHC) decision regarding revocation of bail plea of PTI founder.
The CJP while raising questions on LHC decision for revoking bail pleas remarked how could high court give opinion on central merits of case in bail case. Lawyers should assist the court on this legal point.
Supreme Court (SC) while issuing notice to Punjab government on 8 appeal pleas of PTI founder ordered prosecution department to make preparations in regard to legal questions.
A 3-member bench of SC presided over by CJP Yahya Afridi took up the case for hearing Tuesday.
The CJP remarked SC will not give any finding due to which case of any one is affected. Can final observations be given in bail case.
The CJP further remarked only notice is being issued to prosecution today. The lawyers should make preparation on legal issues till next hearing. The lawyers of respondents should assist court on legal questions so that case could be decided on merit.
Later the SC adjourned hearing of the case till August 19, 2025.
