Secretary-General Ant³nio Guterres commends Pakistan’s role in regional peace, stability

Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar received a call from the United Nations Secretary-General Ant³nio Guterres.

They discussed the latest regional developments as well as Pakistan's ongoing diplomatic efforts and engagement with the parties.

Commending Pakistan's ongoing efforts, the Secretary-General conveyed international community's deep appreciation and support for Pakistan's constructive role for regional and international peace and stability. He also expressed UN's full support for Pakistan's ongoing efforts.

Meanwhile, Ishaq Dar chaired a meeting of the Cabinet Committee for Monitoring and Implementation of Fuel Conservation and Additional Austerity Measures.

DPM/FM reviewed the implementation status of austerity measures and expressed satisfaction on its compliance. He stressed that given the current challenges, it was essential that all sectors practice conservation and austerity until circumstances improve. Minister IT also displayed the dashboard prepared for tracking implementation of the austerity measures.

The DPM/FM further emphasized that only those cases for exemption from these austerity measures be brought to the committee which are essential in carrying out critical and timebound work of the Government.

The meeting was attended by the Federal Ministers of IT, Climate Change, SAPM Tariq Bajwa, Secretaries of Cabinet Division, National Security Division, Petroleum Division, Planning Division, Chief Secretaries of all provinces and other senior officials from concerned Ministries.
