Lahore: Section 144 has been imposed in all over Punjab province from 1st to 10th Muharram.Display of all types of weapons and firearms in public places without the permission of authorized authority has been completely banned.The order for restrictions on pillion riding will be applicable on 9th to 10th Muharram except for senior citizens, women, and law enforcement personnel..As per media report, the step has been taken to maintain law and order and ensure religious harmony during processions and gatherings.The government has also prohibited inflammatory slogans, gestures, and any public expression that could hurt religious sentiments or fuel sectarian division.Strict action will be taken on constructing temporary structures or 'morchas' on rooftops along procession routes by the residents and using social media or other platforms to spread communal hatred or sectarian provocation.People are also barred from collecting stones, bricks, bottles, or garbage on rooftops along procession paths.Sta nding on rooftops or shop windows along procession routes as spectators has also been banned. .Home department Punjab has issued orders regarding imposition of section 144 saying protecting life and property of citizens is top priority of government of Punjab.Section 144 has been imposed to maintain peace and religious harmony during Muharram.
