Security Forces Kill 21 Terrorists in Chagai and Pishin Operations

Rawalpindi: Security Forces killed 21 terrorists belonging to Indian-sponsored proxies of Fitna al-Hindustan and Fitna al-Khawarij during multiple incidents in Nokcha, Chagai District, and Ziarat Cross in Pishin District on the night between August 31 and September 1.According to ISPR, terrorists belonging to Fitna al-Hindustan attempted on August 31 to disrupt the peaceful movement of commuters on the N-40 Quetta-Taftan Highway by establishing an illegal checkpoint for extortion.Security Forces responded immediately and, following an intense exchange of fire, killed 11 terrorists on the spot. A large quantity of weapons, ammunition and explosives was also recovered from the terrorists.In another incident during the night of August 31 and September 1, terrorists belonging to Fitna al-Khawarij launched a coordinated attack in an attempt to breach the Customs House.Security Forces responded effectively and killed 10 terrorists following an intense exchange of fire. The fleeing terrorists were also enga ged by Security Forces, resulting in further casualties among them.According to ISPR, the attack on the Customs House reflected the nexus between terrorism and criminal activity and was aimed at preventing Customs officials from performing their lawful duties and facilitating the continuation of criminal activities in the area.During the exchange of fire, however, six personnel, including two officers and a government official from the Customs Department, embraced Shahadat in the line of duty.Sanitization operations are continuing in the surrounding areas to eliminate any remaining terrorists and ensure the safety and security of the local population and vital national highways.ISPR said the counter-terrorism campaign under the vision of Azm-e-Istehkam, as approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan, would continue with full resolve.Security Forces and Law Enforcement Agencies, it said, remain committed to eliminating foreign-sponsored and foreign-supported terrorism from the country.
