Islamabad:Six terrorists were killed during an intelligence-based operation in Mir Ali area of North Waziristan.

According to ISPR, security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation in Mir Ali area of North Waziristan District on reported presence of Khwarij.

During the conduct of operation, own troops effectively engaged their location and killed six terrorists.

However, during intense fire exchange, Major Hamza Israr, a brave officer who was leading his troops from the front and Sepoy Muhammad Naeem, fought gallantly and embraced Shahadat.

Sanitization operation is being conducted to eliminate any other terrorist found in the area.

The security forces of Pakistan are determined to wipe-out the menace of terrorism from the country and such sacrifices of our brave soldiers further strengthen our resolve.

Meanwhile President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif have appreciated the officers and jawans of the security forces for killing six terrorists in Mir Ali area of North Waziristan.

In their separate messages, they paid homage to Major Hamza Israr and Sepoy Muhammad Naeem who embraced martyrdom while valiantly confronting the terrorists during the operation.

Both the leaders also expressed sympathies with the families of martyrs and prayed for patience to bear the loss.

The President expressed the commitment that security forces' operations will continue till complete elimination of terrorists and our resolve to eliminate terrorist elements and defence of the country will remain unwavering.

In a statement, the Prime Minister vowed that great sacrifices rendered by sons of the land would not go waste and hideous designs of the anti-state elements would be crushed.

PM Shehbaz Sharif reiterated security forces are fully active for complete elimination of terrorism from the country.
