Senate body expresses dismay on Zaireen problems

ISLAMABAD: The Senate Religious Affairs Committee took up the matters of pilgrims heading to Iran and Iraq on Wednesday.Senator Raja Nasir Abbas, a member of the committee, said that pilgrims faced a number of problems at Taftan border. Things available at border are expensive and of substandard.Forum should talk to the Balochistan government about the complaints on the Taftan border. The chairman committee said that some members of the committee should go to Taftan and look into the matter and also talk to the Balochistan government.The member of the committee said to create a complaint cell related to the complaints from the pilgrims and will call the planning commission for the construction of Pakistan House on the Taftan border.Member Committee Raja Nasir Abbas said to build temporary residences for pilgrims in collaboration with FC and Ministry.The religious affairs secretary told the committee that a directorate for pilgrims is being made in Baghdad, while Iran is also making a new policy for pilgrimages in Iraq and Syria.The Secretary of Religious Affairs said that he will call all the stakeholders including the FC on the Taftan issue to the next meeting.A sub-committee has been formed to review the problems of pilgrims going to other countries including Iran under the chairmanship of Senator Allama Raja Nasir Abbas.
