Islamabad: The Senate Standing Committee on National Food Security and Research, chaired by Senator Syed Masroor Ahsan, met today at Parliament House. However, the committee staged a walk out due to continuous non serious attitude of the Ministry towards parliamentary work.

Senator Syed Masroor expressed strong displeasure over the absence of officials from the concerned ministry and the Law Division, except for the Secretary of National Food Security and Research. The committee observed that such non professional attitude of the Ministry on its own legislative business raises severe questions on the ability of Ministry to address problems affecting common man on issues of food security especially in the wake of the ongoing sugar crisis.
