Senator Rubina Khalid meets with Provincial Minister Saeed Ghani

Karachi: Chairperson Benazir Income Support Program (BISP), Senator Rubina Khalid on Wednesday visited the Sindh Social Protection Authority (SSPA) office in Karachi. On this occasion, she met Sindh Minister for Labor, Manpower and Social Protection, Saeed Ghani.During the meeting, Senator Rubina Khalid stated that BISP is a federal institution that has been implementing programs for the economic empowerment of deserving households, especially women, across the country for the past 17 years. She noted that BISP maintains a comprehensive database of eligible households. If any province wishes to initiate social protection or development initiatives, BISP can provide data in accordance with established data-sharing principles. The aim is to eradicate poverty nationwide and ensure timely and effective access to social protection services for all eligible citizens, she added.Senator Rubina Khalid further said that BISP is ready to cooperate fully with the provinces, and through such collaboration, data dupli cation can be avoided, enabling each province to use the data effectively according to its needs.Senator Rubina Khalid emphasized that cooperation and data sharing between the federation and the provinces will strengthen the social protection system and facilitate better and easier access to services for all deserving. Detailed discussions were also held on mutual cooperation, data integration, and joint planning.On this occasion, Chief Executive Officer SSPA Irshad Sodhar, Secretary Khadim Hussain Channa, Senior Project Manager Zulfiqar Mithani, NSER Director General Dr. Asim Ijaz, BISP Sindh DG Adnan ul Hassan, Technical Consultant BISP Muhammad Noman Ali, Outreach Coordinator Sindh for Benazir Hunarmand Programme Naveed Khan and other officials were also present.
