Islamabad: Chairperson Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), Senator Rubina Khalid has reaffirmed BISP's unwavering commitment to working in tandem with provincial stakeholders, emphasizing the imperative of synergy in delivering targeted, inclusive, and efficient support to the most vulnerable segments of society.Senator Rubina Khalid, convened an important meeting with Special Assistant to the Chief Minister Sindh on Social Protection, Sarfaraz Rajar, at the BISP Headquarters.The objective was to surmount challenges hindering the implementation of the bilateral data exchange agreement between BISP and the Sindh Social Protection Authority (SSPA), and to establish a definitive roadmap with actionable milestones and stringent timelines.The meeting was attended by senior officials from both sides, including Secretary Social Protection Sindh, Muzamil Hussain, CEO SSPA, Sami Ullah Nisar Ali Shaikh, Project Specialist Rashid Mehmood, and other dignitaries, as well as a representative from GIZ. The delibe ration focused on ensuring secure and efficient data sharing between BISP and the Government of Sindh to eliminate duplication of efforts, safeguard beneficiary data through rigorous safety protocols, and leverage BISP's comprehensive database to support and augment social protection programs for marginalized populations.The discussion also encompassed key objectives and terms of the Data Exchange Agreement and Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) signed between BISP and SSPA, underscoring the significance of inter-institutional collaboration and mutual trust. Senator Rubina Khalid reaffirmed BISP's unwavering commitment to working in tandem with provincial stakeholders, emphasizing the imperative of synergy in delivering targeted, inclusive, and efficient support to the most vulnerable segments of society.Both parties agreed to finalize the modalities of the MAMTA project and Nashonuma to avoid duplication of beneficiaries and ensure efficient use of government resources. BISP conveyed its commitment to assist the Social Protection initiatives in Sindh by sharing information on potential beneficiaries for more precise targeting. It was also suggested that the Sindh government seek support from National CERT for establishing secured digital platforms. The Special Assistant to the Chief Minister of Sindh was requested to act as a focal point for liaison with BISP for other Sindh provincial agencies.Furthermore, both organizations agreed to arrange a consultative session in the presence of all relevant provincial stakeholders for a Joint Policy Statement. The Chairperson BISP reassured all possible support for technical assistance, highlighting the importance of cooperation in advancing social protection initiatives in Sindh. With a shared vision for impact, BISP and SSPA are poised to make a meaningful difference in the lives of marginalized populations. Both parties concurred on holding regular technical-level meetings to address operational and procedural aspects of the partnership, ensuring effective implementat ion of collaborative endeavors.
