Islamabad: Islamabad High Court (IHC) has declared null and void contempt of court sentence awarded by single bench to Deputy Commissioner (DC) Islamabad and SSP operations.

The contempt of court case on issuing 3-MPO despite court's orders came up for hearing Wednesday.

Chief Justice (CJ) IHC Sarfraz Dogar and Justice Azam Khan declared the decision given by justice Babar Sattar null and void.

Justice Babar Sattar had awarded 6 months sentence to district magistrate Irfan Nawaz Memon. The court had awarded 4 months sentence to SSP operations Malik Zafar and 2 months sentence to SHO.

The officers were awarded sentence due to contempt of court for issuing 3-MPO order in defiance of court's orders.
