Islamabad: PTI leader Mian Mehmood ul Rashid while resorting to Federal Constitutional Court (FCC) for bail in May 9 related case has filed appeal plea against Lahore High Court (LHC) April 28 decision. It has been requested in the appeal plea that LHC decision be declared null and void and bail be granted to him.
The petition said high court did not take correct review of the facts. No evidences are available in support of May 9 allegations while no witness has leveled allegation of provocation against him.
As per media report it was further said in the appeal plea trial court pronounced punishment in the offence of sedition despite the allegation of recovery were rejected.
The statements of the witnesses related to sedition contradicted each other in different courts. One co-accused Shah Mehmood Qureshi has been acquitted in this case. Therefore, sentencing one person and acquitting other person in the same case runs contrary to law.
Punjab government and SHO police station Shadman have been made respondents in the case.
