Karachi: Sindh High Court (SHC) has approved 20-day protective bail in respect of former president Arif Alvi.The court while approving protective bail plea has ordered former president to deposit surety bonds worth Rs 50000.The court has approved protective bail in 3 cases.SHC remarked the matter is being referred to constitutional bench for further hearing.Counsel for the petitioner took the plea cases were registered in different cities despite peaceful protest. Cases were registered against former president Arif Alvi in Mianwali, Taxila and Rawalpindi. The cases were aimed at putting political pressure on him. Twenty days protective bail be granted to resort to the courts. Sindh police be restrained from arresting Arif Alvi. The police be stopped from including Arif Alvi name in unknown FIR.On the other hand wife of former president Arif Alvi has filed contempt of court plea against SBCA authorities of government of Sindh with reference to de-sealing clinic of Dr Arif Alvi.The petiti oner took the plea that SBCA did not implement court's orders. SBCA sealed the clinic on October 3 in PECHS. High Court while declaring the order of sealing clinic null and void on November 22 ordered to de-seal the clinic. The respondents have not implemented this order so far.The petitioner said court order was sent to SBCA officers through different ways.It is requested the defendants have violated court's orders deliberately. Contempt of court proceedings be initiated against them.Director General SBCA Rashid Solangi, director East Syed Asif Rizvi and deputy director Shakil Ahmad have been made respondents in the petition.
