Karachi: Constitutional petition has been filed in Sindh High Court (SHC) against alleged disappearance and illegal detention of Zamir Ahmad Abbasi former Project Director (PD) Yellow Line BRT Project.
The petition has been filed through Kashif Khan advocate making federal government, interior ministry, ministry of defence, chairman anti corruption Establishment Sindh, IG Sindh and Commission for Missing Persons.
The petition said Zamir Ahmad Abbasi was performing duty as PD in Yellow Line BRT Project.
The charges of corruption under the head of advance payments to contractors have been leveled against him. However these payments were part of daily office routine and no irregularity was committed therein.
According to petition Anti Corruption officials took Zamir Abbasi forcibly with them and they have kept him under their custody. He has not been presented in any competent court despite lapse of over 24 hours.
It was said in the petition that the allegations leveled by anti corruption are wrong and baseless. On the other hand the concerned authorities are not providing any information about Zamir Abbasi.
The court has been requested to issue order for recovering and producing Zamir Abbasi before it besides making the respective institutions bound to reveal the details about disappearance and detention of Zamir Abbasi.
