Islamabad: Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif has said the situation emanating from Iran-Israel war is highly alarming and the international community should take immediate steps for ceasefire.

Addressing federal cabinet meeting the PM said Israel has launched blatant aggression against Pakistan's brotherly nation Iran and hundreds of people have been martyred due to this aggression.

Hundreds are injured still. Pakistan has strongly condemned the heinous aggression of Israel.

He held the day this war started he spoke with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan .

I expressed solidarity with Iranian president from people of Pakistan.

Pakistan wants peace and stability in the region. International community should play immediate role for ceasefire between Iran and Israel.

He observed situation is Gaza is very tragic. 50000 Palestinians have been martyred and thousands have been injured in Israeli aggression. Deputy prime minister will participate in OIC foreign ministers meeting in Turkiye.

Debate on next financial year budget is underway in parliament. No tax was imposed on agriculture . Steps for development of agriculture sector are our priority. 10 percent increase was made in salaries. Relief has been given to salaried class in the budget. Decision has been taken to reduce the tax to one percent on the income from 6 lac rupees to 12 lac rupees.

Development program of government sector is 1000 billion rupees. The economy is set on the road to stability through hard labor. We saved the country from going default while facing hard time in 2023.

He held Pakistani delegation led by Bilawal Bhutto Zardari made effective representation of Pakistan in US and Europe. The efforts made by Pakistani delegation for highlighting national stance are commendable.

He said armed forces achieved success against enemy with the support of nation. We are committed for complete elimination of terrorism. We will meet all requirements of our armed forces.
