Islamabad: SOS Foundation will organize a Literacy Walk today (Tuesday) on International Literacy Day to draw attention to Pakistan's education crisis, particularly the 26 million out-of-school children across the country.
The walk will commence at 10: 30 AM from Mr. Books, F-6 Markaz (Super Market), Islamabad, and conclude at the National Press Club, Islamabad.
The walk aims to raise public awareness and call for the effective implementation of Article 25-A of the Constitution of Pakistan, which guarantees the right to free and compulsory education. It will also reaffirm Pakistan's commitment to achieving universal and quality education under UN Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG 4).
SOS Foundation invites educationists, teachers, students, civil society, media representatives and citizens to join the walk and stand together for the right to education for every child.
