Islamabad: Federal Constitutional Court (FCC) has suspended high court order for giving billion of rupees to private company within a week on the matter of giving subsidy to companies in petroleum crisis.

The court while issuing notice to respondents has sought reply.

A two members bench comprising Chief Justice (CJ) Amin ud Din Khan and Justice Ali Baqar Najafi heard the case.

The court while admitting federation appeal for hearing issued notices to the respondents. The FCC sought record of both the cases from high court.

Sindh high court had ordered to pay subsidy to a petroleum company within a week.

in the second case high court had stopped FIA from making decision.

Federal government had decided to give subsidy to petroleum companies on difference in price.

Private company Go Petroleum had claimed from government near Rs 14 billion subsidy during petroleum crisis.

Government had ordered FIA to conduct investigations to assess the sale of petroleum.

Hearing of the case was adjourned for indefinite period.
