Suspension of sentence: PTI leader Ejaz Chaudhry resorts to SC

Islamabad: PTI leader Ejaz Chaudhry has resorted to Supreme Court (SC) in connection with suspension of his sentence besides challenging Lahore High Court (LHC) April 28 decision.

Through the petition Ejaz Chaudhry has requested the SC to suspend trial court August 11, 2025 decision. LHC April 28 order be also declared null and void.

The petitioner took the plea there is no criminal record against him in the past. His name was included in the case later.

According to petition the entire case of prosecution is based on alleged meetings in Zaman Park and allegations of conspiracy.

It was further said in the petition that both of prosecution witnesses are government employees. LHC has already suspended the sentence of another accused nominated in this case. Therefore, petitioner is too entitled to such relief.

Ejaz Chaudhry took the plea in his petition he has been awarded sentence in another case registered in Sarwar Road Lahore with reference to this incident. The proceeding in two separate cases in respect of one incident runs contrary to law. The petition has been filed in SC against the punishment awarded in the case registered in Shadman police station.
