Islamabad: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has congratulated newly elected office bearers of National Press Club (NPC).

Information minister congratulated newly elected president of NPC Azhar Jatoi, secretary Nayyar Ali, Waqar Abbasi finance secretary and other newly elected office bearers and expressed good wishes for them.

He said government fully believes in the freedom of press and freedom of expression. Journalists community is vital pillar of country, he added.

He held press club is robust voice of journalists. Press club is such institution which is playing prominent role for the rights of journalists, freedom of expression and welfare of journalists.

The success of newly elected office bearers is manifestation of unwavering confidence of journalists on them.

It is hoped new leadership will play positive role for welfare of journalists, freedom of expression and national interest.

He underlined government will extend every possible cooperation for addressing problems facing the journalists, enhancement in their professional potential and promotion of freedom of expression.
