Islamabad: Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar on Saturday held an important meeting with Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi here Saturday.

The two exchanged views at length on matters of mutual interest, overall law and order situation in the country and positive role of media.

Interior minister and minister for information agreed on adopting coherent strategy for fortifying state narrative, maintaining trust atmosphere in the public and curbing misleading information on social media.

Information minister Atta Ullah Tarar said no negative propaganda against dignity of national institutions and social harmony will be tolerated.

He underlined the importance for providing authentic and responsible information to people through media.

Interior minister Mohsin Naqvi said constructive and positive role of media in maintaining law and order situation and taking steps by government against terrorism is appreciable.

Promoting institutional harmony in national is inevitable.

During the meeting stress was laid that national unity , institutional harmony and responsible journalism are the pillars which can lay foundations of strong, peaceful and dignified Pakistan. .
