TDAP mega corruption case: Chairman Senate acquitted in 9 cases

Karachi: Anti Corruption Court (ACC) Karachi has acquitted chairman Senate Yusuf Raza Gillani in 9 cases in Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) mega corruption case.Yusuf Raza Gillani appeared in the court along with other co-accused in the court.The court while announcing decision of 9 cases of mega corruption acquitted former Prime Minister (PM).FIA had registered overall 26 cases in TDAP case. Yusuf Raza Gillani has already been acquitted in 3 cases among them. Following the today's decision he has been acquitted in total 12 cases.Investigation into case had started in 2009. FIA started registering cases in 2013. Yusuf Raza Gillani was nominated as accused in final challan of these cases in 2015.The accused were charged with committing corruption of about Rs 7 billion under head of freight subsidy by making bogus companies.Talking to media men after appearing in the court Yusuf Raza Gillani said Central Executive Committee (CEC) of PPP had earlier taken decision not to become part of government and now too this forum will decide about it.
