Islamabad: Former ambassador Dr. Maleeha Lodhi said that Pakistan's stance is absolutely clear: the tension between Pakistan and Afghanistan is due to the TTP. She added that she does not believe Afghanistan's relations with India are a problem for Pakistan.

Speaking to a private TV channel, Dr. Maleeha Lodhi said that the Afghan government has repeatedly been asked to control the TTP, but the Taliban government in Afghanistan has done nothing in practical terms. She said Afghan representatives had assured that Afghan soil would not be used for terrorism.

Dr. Maleeha Lodhi further said that she does not consider Afghanistan's relations with India to be an issue for Pakistan, as geography cannot be changed. She added that Pakistan is Afghanistan's neighbor, not India, and Afghanistan depends on Pakistan for transit trade.
