There are 23 Aghosh Centers across the country under Alkhidmat, housing around 3,000 orphan children: Syed Waqas Anjum Jafri

Rawalpindi: Secretary General Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan, Syed Waqas Anjum Jafri, stated that currently, there are approximately 4.2 million orphan children in Pakistan and Alkhidmat runs 23 Aghosh Centers across the country, providing care for around 3,000 orphan children.Syed Waqas Anjum Jafri expressed these views while addressing the annual prize distribution ceremony at Aghosh Alkhidmat Rawalpindi.On the occasion, other speakers also shared their thoughts, including Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Rawalpindi District Syed Arif Shirazi, District General Secretary Usman Akash, President Alkhidmat Foundation North Punjab Rizwan Ahmed, President Alkhidmat Foundation Rawalpindi District Haroon Rasheed, and Director Aghosh Alkhidmat Rawalpindi Atique Ahmad Abbasi.Syed Waqas Anjum Jafri said that children benefiting from the Orphan Care Program receive a monthly stipend of Rs. 5,500 for educational expenses while living at home. He emphasized that, fundamentally, it is the government's responsibility to provide e ducation, shelter, and care for orphans, but unfortunately, the government has been neglectful in fulfilling these duties.He said, "Our effort is to ensure that no orphan child is deprived of the light of education due to a lack of resources. He further added that witnessing the quality of education, training, excellent residential facilities, and nutritious meals at Aghosh Rawalpindi - all in a cadet-college-like environment - was a source of great happiness for him.
