Karachi: Sindh High Court (SHC) has issued notice to federal government, secretary energy, NEPRA, K-Electric and others on the petition against payment of capacity charges to Independent Power Producers ( IPPs).The petition filed against payment of capacity charges to IPPs came up for hearing in SHC Saturday.Sohail Hamid counsel for the petitioner took the plea Supreme Court (SC) had ordered to conduct forensic audit of IPPs, Capacity charges are being received instead of implementing SC orders. SC order has not been enforced so far. SC decision is being violated by charging capacity charges. The recovery of capacity charges be stopped unless the SC decision is implemented.The court while issuing notice to federation, federal secretary for energy, NEPRA, K-Electric and others sought reply.
