Islamabad: A high level delegation of the Tehreek Tahafuz Ayeen-i-Pakistan (TTAP) led by opposition leader in National Assembly ( NA) and chief of TTAP Mehmood Khan Achakzai has been stopped from entering into Azad Kashmir.
The delegation which was going to Azad Kashmir to express solidarity with the participants of dharna (sit-in) continuing in Azad Kashmir was stopped by police at Kahuta.
The members of delegation while condemning strongly this police action have said that peaceful political activity and basic right of freedom of expression cannot be curbed by dint of force.
They inquired they have been stopped under what legal justification.
The leaders of delegation said police had no written order or legal notification to stop them.
Terming it the blatant violation of their basic rights they said we were going to express solidarity with the people of Azad Kashmir in peaceful and democratic manner. Stopping us is tantamount to curb political freedom.
The delegation made it clear they have right to go ahead under their legal and constitutional rights. They will continue to raise voice against such unconstitutional steps.
The delegation comprised opposition leader in Senate Allama Raja Nasir Abbas, former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Senator Mustafa Nawaz Khokhar, spokesperson TTP , Hussain Ahmad Yusufzai and Khalid Yusuf Chaudhry counserl for PTI founder Imran Khan.
