Islamabad: President of Turkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan has arrived at the Prime Minister's (PM) House for talks with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

Upon his arrival in PM House, Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif accorded a warm welcome to the Turkish President.

A formal welcome ceremony was held in honour of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan at the Prime Minister House in Islamabad.

The national anthems of both countries were played on the occasion.

A smartly turned-out contingent of the Pakistan armed forces presented a guard of honour to the Turkish president.

The prime minister also introduced the Turkish president to members of the federal cabinet. PM Shehbaz also met Erdogan's cabinet members, who were also present on the occasion.

Earlier, Erdogan was also greeted at the PM House by Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir, with both of them shaking hands. The Turkish president was also presented with a salute comprising various fighter jet formations, including three F-16 aircraft.

Erdogan, accompanied by the First Lady and a delegation of investors and business leaders, landed at Noor Khan Airbase late last night.

President Asif Ali Zardari and PM Shehbaz personally welcomed him at the airport. As part of the ceremonial reception, a 21-gun salute was presented to the distinguished guest.
