Two Children Dead, Two Missing After Mother Jumps into Canal with Four Children Over Alleged Poverty

Rahim yar khan: Two children died while two others remained missing after a woman allegedly jumped into a canal with her four children following a domestic dispute reportedly triggered by financial hardship, rescue officials said.

The incident occurred near Chak 182-P, where 30-year-old Razia Kausar allegedly jumped into the Gullen Canal along with her four children after becoming distressed over poverty and frequent domestic disputes.

People present at the scene rescued the woman, while all four children were swept away by the canal's strong current.

The children were identified as 10-year-old Ali Hassan, seven-year-old Tayyaba, four-year-old Rehan and two-year-old Ayan.

Rescue teams reached the scene after receiving information and launched a search operation. During the operation, the bodies of two children were recovered from the canal, while efforts continued to trace the remaining two children.

According to local sources, the children's father, Bilal, works as a bicycle mechanic. The family had reportedly been facing severe financial difficulties, which frequently led to domestic disputes.

Police and rescue authorities are continuing the search operation, while further investigation into the incident is underway.
