Lahore: A two-day Search and Rescue Training titled "A Way Forward to" was organized under the Alkhidmat Disaster Management Program.

The purpose of this training was to familiarize volunteers with modern rescue operations and equipment and to prepare them for effective relief efforts in emergency situations. The training covered flood rescue operations, earthquake response, building collapse rescues, high-rise evacuations, and other advanced rescue techniques.

On this occasion, Secretary General Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan, Syed Waqas Jafri, President Alkhidmat Central Punjab, Ikramul Haq Subhani, Senior Director Planning NDMA, Colonel Raza Iqbal, and Registrar Rescue 1122, Dr. Farhan Khalid participated in the event. Additionally, Deputy Country Head UNOCHA Pakistan, Gift Chatora joined the session online.

While addressing the ceremony, Secretary General Alkhidmat Foundation, Syed Waqas Jafri, stated that Alkhidmat Foundation is continuously taking steps to ensure timely and effective response during natural disasters and emergencies. In this regard, advanced rescue equipment has been added to enhance the capabilities of volunteers. He further emphasized that Alkhidmat is committed to expanding its scope for international rescue operations in the future.

Previously, in 2023, Alkhidmat Foundation had deployed its international rescue teams to assist in the devastating earthquake in Trkiye, which was highly appreciated worldwide, especially by the Turkish government, he maintained.

He further stated that experts trained the volunteers in modern rescue techniques through various practical exercises, significantly enhancing their skills and capabilities.

Deputy Country Head UNOCHA Pakistan, Gift Chatora, joined the session via video link and addressed the guests and volunteers. He paid special tribute to Alkhidmat Foundation and all the volunteers who received the training.

Ikramul Haq Subhani expressed his commitment that Alkhidmat Foundation will continue conducting rescue training sessions and will strive to further organize and enhance relief efforts in the future.

Colonel Raza Iqbal praised Alkhidmat Foundation, stating that the organization has always been at the forefront in helping distressed people across the country during natural disasters and emergencies.
