Two police officials martyred in Swabi firing incident; PM Shehbaz condemns the firing incident on police personnel

Swabi/islamabad: At least two police officials were martyred when some unidentified persons opened fire at them in Swabi, a city in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, on late Friday night.

According to details, the incident occurred in the jurisdiction of IDS Police Station where the assailants open fire at the police officials when they were having meal at a hotel, as a result both of then died on the spot.

The attackers managed to escape from the scene after the incident. The bodies of the officials were later shifted the hospital. The deceased officials were identified as Constable Jamal Din and driver Zahid.

A heavy contingent of police reached the spot after the incident and cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to arrest the culprits involved in the attack.

Meanwhile Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has condemned the firing incident on police personnel in Swabi.

In a statement, he expressed deep sorrow and grief over the martyrdom of police personnel. The Prime Minister directed a thorough investigation into the incident and identification of those responsible, emphasizing that they must be brought to justice.

PM Shehbaz Sharif said our fight against the scourge of terrorism will continue until it is completely eradicated from the country.

He said that police officers and personnel are working tirelessly to rid the country of terrorism.

He said the entire nation is proud of them who are foiling the nefarious designs of terrorists against our homeland.
