Islamabad: Members of the U.S. House of Representatives Ryan Zinke and Michael Baumgartner are visiting Pakistan as high-level diplomatic engagements between Islamabad and Washington continue to gain momentum.
During their stay in Islamabad, the two U.S. lawmakers visited the Lok Virsa Museum, where they were given a comprehensive briefing on Pakistan’s history, regional cultures, languages and ethnic diversity.
The congressional delegation also toured the Pakistan Monument and expressed keen interest in the history of Pakistan’s independence movement.
The visiting lawmakers appreciated Pakistan’s constructive and proactive role in addressing the Gulf crisis and acknowledged its diplomatic efforts in promoting regional stability.
Congressman Michael Baumgartner expressed confidence that Pakistan-United States relations would continue to grow stronger in the future.
He said expanding people-to-people exchanges and increasing commercial engagement were clear indicators of the strengthening bilateral relationship between the two countries.
Following their engagements in Islamabad, the U.S. delegation is scheduled to visit Lahore, where they will tour historical landmarks and hold a series of important meetings.
