Islamabad: At the invitation of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, paid an official visit to Pakistan on December 26, 2025-his first since assuming office as UAE President.

Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed was accorded a warm and cordial welcome upon arrival. JF-17 fighter jets escorted the Royal aircraft as it entered Pakistani airspace. At Nur Khan Airbase, the UAE President and his high-level delegation were received by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, along with senior cabinet members and government officials.

During the visit, Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed held substantive talks with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The two leaders reviewed the longstanding fraternal relations between Pakistan and the UAE, assessed progress in ongoing cooperation, and explored new avenues to deepen engagement across multiple sectors.

Both sides emphasized expanding collaboration in economic cooperation, investment, energy, infrastructure development, IT, technology, and people-to-people exchanges. They also agreed to enhance bilateral trade, recognizing its significant potential for mutually beneficial growth.

The leaders exchanged views on key regional and international developments and reaffirmed their commitment to close coordination on matters of mutual interest. Expressing satisfaction over the positive trajectory of bilateral ties, they reiterated their resolve to work closely to promote peace, stability, and sustainable development.

The visit is expected to further consolidate the deep brotherly relations between Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates and strengthen their strategic partnership.
