Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister/Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar spoke to the US Secretary of State Marco Rubio on telephone on Saturday.

They discussed the current situation in South Asia following Indian attacks on Pakistan and Pakistan's response. The two leaders agreed to maintain close contact.

Meanwhile Secretary of State Marco Rubio spoke with Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir on Saturday. He continued to urge both parties to find ways to deescalate and offered U.S. assistance in starting constructive talks in order to avoid future conflicts.
