Use of govt resources , helicopter during Long march: PHC issues notice to KP CM, seeks reply

Peshawar:Peshawar High Court (PHC) has issued notice and sought reply from Chief Minister (CM) KP Sohail Afridi for allegedly using government resources and helicopter for PTI protest Long March.

The petition filed by PML-N MPA Qari Zahir came up for hearing before 2-member bench of PHC presided over by Chief Justice (CJ) S.M. Attique Shah.

The petitioner took the plea that PHC in its important decision in November 2025 had imposed ban on use of government resources for political activities. However CM KP Sohail Afridi allegedly reached Lakki Marwat through official helicopter on March 4 at the beginning of PTI protest long march.

The petitioner requested the court to take notice of use of official resources during Long March and seek explanation from the responsible persons.

The court while seeking reply on the matter from KP CM during the hearing of the case issued the notice.

Reference of a past incident has also been given in the petition wherein Punjab police had taken into its custody over 10 government vehicles and 47 government officials during protest march towards Islamabad in October 2024 during former CM KP Ali Amin Gandapur rule in KP.

The court will decide about further proceedings on receipt of reply from KP CM.
