vBISP maintains good working relationships with all provinces: Senator Rubina Khalid

Swabi: A Nutrition Stabilization Center was inaugurated on Wednesday at Bacha Khan Medical Complex, Swabi, in collaboration with the Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) and the World Health Organization (WHO). Chairperson BISP Senator Rubina Khalid attended the ceremony as the chief guest and formally inaugurated the center.On this occasion, Minister for Health Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Khaliq-ur-Rehman and WHO Representative Dr. Luo Dapeng were also present and termed the initiative important for improving maternal and child health and nutrition.After the inauguration, Senator Rubina Khalid was briefed by the staff about the facilities being provided at the Nutrition Stabilization Center. She also interacted with deserving women receiving treatment at the medical complex.While speaking to media representatives, Senator Rubina Khalid thanked the provincial government for its cooperation in establishing the Nutrition Stabilization Center. She stated that BISP maintains good working relationships with all p rovinces and will continue to strengthen these ties, as synergy is essential for national development.She further said that BISP's Benazir Nashonuma Programme is an important and effective initiative for promoting the health and nutrition of mothers and children. Under this programme, health and nutrition-related services are provided to mothers and children from birth until the age of two, as the first two years of a child's life are crucial for physical and mental development.Keeping this importance in view, the Nutrition Stabilization Center has been established to ensure timely and quality nutritional and medical services for mothers and children.Senator Rubina Khalid added that other essential health services, including child immunization and the provision of nutritional supplements, will also be offered at these centers. She further stated that, with the cooperation of the provincial government, similar Nutrition Stabilization Centers will soon be established in the merged districts of Khyber Pakh tunkhwa. This is an ongoing project that will be expanded to more areas in phases.She also clarified that an effective mechanism is in place to ensure transparency in the programme, and in case of any complaint, beneficiaries may file a formal complaint through the prescribed channels.
