Gilgit-baltistan: PML-N president Nawaz Sharif has said he seeks vote on the basis of performance and not by criticizing any one.
" I am that Nawaz Sharif who seeks votes from people on the basis of performance and not by criticizing others, he said this while addressing a public meeting here Tuesday.
Addressing the problems facing the public is his responsibility either he gets votes or otherwise. He will never link development projects to vote, he added.
I will suggest to Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif and Chief Minister (CM) Punjab Maryam Nawaz to visit Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) so that the requirements of this area could be directly reviewed.
He further said if he gets opportunity he will visit G.B after every two or three months and will himself monitor the development projects. I want to see with my own eyes that the projects which are started should be completed too.
Terming the issue of financial and constitutional rights of GB highly significant he said his government had constituted a special committee in 2017 to address the matter on permanent basis.
Sartaj Aziz was head of this committee so that comprehensive recommendations on rights of the region,. resources and administrative matters could be worked out.
He pointed out committee had evolved its recommendations and next phase was their implementation. But this project remained incomplete due to abolition of his government.
Although I had to face the political ups and downs, exile and imprisonment like situation but the spirit for serving people never subsided.
I consider my responsibility to safeguard the rights of people of GB. If given chance again I will take this matter to logic end after consultation with the respective sides.
The most benefit of growing trade between Pakistan and China can go to Gilgit-Baltistan. This will create new opportunities of prosperity and development in this area.
Network of motorways has been laid from Islamabad to Karachi. Now the need is this modern motorway be built from Mansehra to GB so that the area could be integrated into mainstream of national economy in more effective way.
The same development facilities should be provided to GB which are available to the other developed areas
Housing loans be provided to people of GB on easy conditions and housing projects be launched here on the pattern of other areas of Pakistan.
He stressed that providing easy loan to the youths for business and self-employment is indispensible so that they could stand on their feet and fortify the local economy.
There is demand of people of GB that a woman university be set up here. This demand will too be met.
I will ask Shehbaz Sharif to expand GB airport further.
I will ask Maryam Nawaz to visit this area and launch electric buses in GB, he added.
I have not come here to seek votes from people only but I have come here to give practicable solution to their problems. .
He reaffirmed the determination his party will continue to play its role for prosperity and development of GB and welfare of people. What pledges are made will be fulfilled.
