Moscow: Russian Foreign Ministry's Spokesperson Maria Zakharova has said that we are deeply concerned about the intensified military confrontation between India and Pakistan following the terrorist attack near Pahalgam.
In a statement issued on Wednesday Maria Zakharova said that Russia strongly condemns acts of terrorism, opposes all its manifestations, and stresses the need for the entire international community to join forces in order to effectively combat this scourge.
Maria Zakharova said that we call on the parties concerned to exercise restraint in order to prevent further deterioration of the situation in the region.
Maria Zakharova said that we hope that the differences between New Delhi and Islamabad will be resolved through peaceful political and diplomatic means on a bilateral basis in line with the 1972 Simla Agreement and the 1999 Lahore Declaration.
