Islamabad: Supreme Court (SC) has adjourned hearing of Imaan Mazari case. Additional Attorney General (AAG) Rana Asad said the case has been fixed for hearing in Islamabad High Court (IHC) on July 24.
Faisal Siddiqui counsel for Imaan Mazari said the case has been fixed in SC due to hearing. Justice is provided only from SC. The case was adjourned on previous hearing due to prosecution.
Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar remarked we cannot regulate high court proceedings by sitting in SC.
Counsel Faisal Siddiqui took the plea SC issued orders to high courts in several cases. Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar remarked there is difference between regulating and issuing orders.
Counsel Faisal Siddiqui argued please hear my arguments on legal point in connection with maintainability. The second thing can be this that case be adjourned for two weeks.
Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar remarked adjourning this way will be tantamount to monitor proceedings of high court.
AAG said they want high court proceedings should run under SC supervision. Faisal Siddiqui said then run the case in high court.
The court adjourned the hearing of the case saying if there is any emergency then counsel can file petition for early hearing. A 3-member bench under Justice Muhammad Ali Mirza heard the case.
