Islamabad: President Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan Professor Dr. Hafeezur Rehman has said that we consider serving others as an obligation upon ourselves. He said that Alkhidmat Foundation is a people's organization, and giving people the concerns for the hereafter is also a form of service.
A charity dinner titled "Aik Sham Khidmat k Naam" was organized by Alkhidmat Foundation Islamabad at a private marquee. The chief guest at the event was Professor Dr. Hafeezur Rehman, President of Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan. During the event, a documentary about Alkhidmat Foundation was presented.
Dr. Hafeezur Rehman said that a scheme for crop cultivation was launched for the flood victims, adding this crop was cultivated on 40,000 acres of land, and the victims earned 5 to 6 billion rupees from it while farmers with less than 5 acres of land were provided with seeds and fertilizers.
A total of 8,000 farmers were registered, and 650,000 pregnant women affected by the floods, a scheme was launched for them, he said and added with a budget of one billion rupees, treatment was provided to 70,000 pregnant women.
Speaking at the event, Professor Dr. Hafeezur Rehman said that when an earthquake struck Turkiye, they requested rescue workers from Alkhidmat. He added we immediately sent 40 rescue workers to Turkey, where they worked for 12 days and made history. Professor Dr. Hafeezur Rehman mentioned that Turkiye bid farewell to the team with great affection and the President of Turkiye awarded Alkhidmat for their efforts. He also shared that the Palestinian students we sponsored have now become doctors in Turkiye, and their graduation was on January 25, adding we used to provide them with $300 every month.
Professor Dr. Hafeezur Rehman continued, "We have sponsored 25 students in Turkiye for one year. These students will now return to Gaza and serve the people there.' He also mentioned that we have brought 175 medical students from Gaza to Pakistan. Alkhidmat currently has 1,900 officials working, all of whom are volunteers; no one is paid, he said and added there are 60,000 volunteers working with Alkhidmat. We consider service as our duty. 'Allah has made it our responsibility to serve His creation, and He has also shown us the proper way to do it-serve those in need, but do not even ask them to pray for us,' he added.
He said, "May Allah accept our efforts and grant us entry into Paradise; that is the true success." He further stated that Alkhidmat is a people's organization, and providing the people with awareness about the Hereafter is also a form of service. He mentioned that after the 2005 earthquake, the first "Aghosh Center" was established in Attock in 2006.
He said because we found out that NGOs wanted to take orphaned children abroad, we decided to take action. Currently, 23 Aghosh Centers are operational, and 10 more are being built, he said, adding along with this, we are supporting 30,000 orphaned children. We have also started providing education to children who collect garbage in the afternoon, he said and added this program now runs in 80 centers and 2.5 billion rupees are being spent on it.
He said, in Raazi Hospital, the best facilities are being provided to patients and those who cannot afford it are being treated for free. Additionally, 56 hospitals are running across Pakistan, adding due to the trust of the people, we receive donations. 'Two schools are operational in Gaza, and over 3,000 tons of goods have been delivered to Gaza. For this, 16 chartered flights were used to transport supplies from Pakistan to Gaza. A total of 5.5 billion rupees have been spent and we will spend another 15 billion rupees," he added.
He said that a promise has been made to donate 500,000 dollars for the restoration of the destroyed hospital in Gaza. Kitchens are operating in Gaza, and water filtration plants are being installed, he said.
President Alkhidmat Foundation, North Punjab, Rizwan Ahmed said that life is a gift from Allah. Those who give thanks are given more blessings by Allah, while those who are ungrateful, blessings are taken away. He added that non-Muslims give the most charity in the world, and encouraged people to give charity generously. He said that the Palestinians are lying under the open sky in harsh cold conditions.
Former head of PARC, Dr. Muhammad Azim said that Alkhidmat's aid system is excellent. CEO of Afzal Group of Companies, Chaudhry Muhammad Afzal said that Alkhidmat is doing excellent work for the welfare of the people. He added that the data of the children who have learned skills through Alkhidmat should be shared with them, and they will arrange for their employment abroad. Our organization will donate 2 million rupees to Alkhidmat, he added.
Malik Karim, CEO of Multi Tech Smart Solutions Private Limited, said that Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan is doing excellent work. He said many people establish organizations but they do not sustain them, adding helping the Palestinians through Alkhidmat is a matter of pride for us.
Secretary General Alkhidmat Foundation Islamabad, Muhammad Altaf Shair said that Alkhidmat Foundation serves everyone without discrimination and is working across Pakistan. 'We have provided services worth over 5 billion rupees in Palestine. We are starting second shift schools for children who collect garbage. For the Bano Qabil program, we have established 4 labs in Islamabad, with 200 computers in each lab,' he noted.
Renowned poet and writer Tahir Shaheer said that he has not seen any organization as effective as Alkhidmat, working in such a way.
President Alkhidmat Foundation Islamabad, Hamid Athar Malik said that the best person is one who benefits others. 'We deliver your donations in an organized manner to those in need. My family will donate 1.5 million rupees to Alkhidmat,' he concluded.
