Islamabad: Islamabad High Court (IHC) has directed finance secretary and HEC to present report on promotion of teachers on next hearing.

The case related to promotion of teachers in BPS in universities came up for hearing in IHC Thursday.

The court ordered that meeting regarding promotion policy be called within 15 days of appointment of chairman HEC and report be presented.

Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani gave important remarks about the teachers saying we are people who opened eyes in dictatorship. There are teachers too here who were not regularized since 17 to 18 years.

He remarked when teachers are disappointed then its impact will come to students too. Teachers and students have to defend the country too. It will not come to our comprehension just now. When hard time comes then we will know.

He observed university students have to command ahead. Recently a best example of defence of country has been seen recently. Teachers should be at good place.

The court adjourned the hearing of the case till January with directives to finance secretary and HEC.
