We welcome President Donald Trump’s expression of willingness to mediate on the Kashmir dispute: Syed Salahuddin Ahmed

Muzaffarabad: Hizb Supreme Commander and Chairman United Jihad Council Jammu Kashmir Syed Salahuddin Ahmed has said that the people of Kashmir have been facing severe military oppression, state sponsored terrorism and economic deprivation for the past seven decades, we welcome President Donald Trump's expression of willingness to mediate on the Kashmir dispute.In a statement issued on Thursday Syed Salahuddin Ahmed said that given the long-standing nature of the conflict and its grounding in United Nations Security Council resolutions, meaningful third-party engagement is both timely and necessary. He said that the international community, particularly the United States, must urge India to abandon its rigid refusal of external facilitation and allow for a dialogue process that is tripartite and Kashmir-centric - reflecting the aspirations of the Kashmiri people who have borne the brunt of decades of occupation and repression.The Chairman United Jihad Council also appealed for urgent international interve ntion in Gaza, where a besieged civilian population faces indiscriminate bombardment, blockade, and starvation. Immediate action is needed to prevent further humanitarian catastrophe and uphold international law.
