We will not take initiative but India will be paid back in same coin if it resorts to aggression: Ishaq Dar

Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) and Foreign Minister (FM) Ishaq Dar has said we will not take initiative but we are alert and India will be paid back in the same coin if it commits aggression.

"We will not forgo even a drop of our water share, he said this while addressing Regional Dialogue organized by Institute of Regional Studies in Islamabad on Monday.

He said India cannot revoke Indus Waters Treaty (IWT) unilaterally.

Any announcement by India for revoking IWT unilaterally will be considered declaration of war. he added.

He reiterated Pakistan is not involved in Pahalgam incident at all. India leveled allegations without any evidence

Deputy PM said misadventure committed in past was foiled within moments. We gave response to Indian Air Force in the same coin. Indian planes made attempt once again and they were forced to flee.

He said world is passing through difficult situation. Peace and prosperity should be our joint target. Climate change will leave impact on coming generations.

Region is undergoing difficult situation due to Kashmir and Palestine issue.

Climate change is potential challenge at present. UN resolutions were defied blatantly in Occupied Kashmir. We have always raised voice against aggression.

We faced disastrous flood in 2022. Pakistan has always been flag bearer of peace in the region.

He underlined false flag operation was conducted in Pahalgam. Pahalgam attack was aimed at diverting attention from ongoing movements in India.

Indian steps are threat to region and peace in the world.
