Lahore: Lahore High Court (LHC) has ruled the widow will not be dismissed from government service on her second marriage after the death of her first husband.This written order has been issued by LHC on the appeal plea of a woman.According to media reports a two members bench of LHC led by Justice Chaudhry Muhammad Iqbal issued decision on the petition of a woman Zoya Islam.One Zoya Islam a widow was given job of Naib Qasid in government department in 2020 after the death of her husband Islam. This woman contracted second marriage in 2021 and she was sacked due to second marriage.It has been said in the decision widow can marry. This is basic right of woman in our religion Islam. Sacking widow from job for contracting second marriage is against Islamic Shariah.It has been said in the court's decision Supreme Court decision has come on the law on the basis of which the widow was dismissed from service.Court declares null and void single bench decision and notification on sacking the widow from job . The appeal plea of widow Zoya Islam is accepted.
