Islamabad:Under the leadership of Federal Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Raza Naqvi, a zero-tolerance policy against illegal encroachments is being enforced across the federal capital, with authorities focusing on reclaiming government land and improving civic discipline, the environment and the overall beauty of Islamabad.

The joint operations are being conducted by teams of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) and Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI) under the supervision of CDA Chairman and Chief Commissioner Islamabad Sohail Ashraf and the leadership of MCI Chief Executive Officer Dr. Anum Fatima.

The anti-encroachment campaign is targeting unauthorized commercial extensions, illegal kiosks and stalls, encroachments on green belts and government land, obstruction of footpaths, illegal commercial use of residential properties and unauthorized settlements on state land.

According to sources, operations in Saidpur Village, Noorpur Shahan, Islamabad Expressway, Tarnol and other areas have resulted in the reclamation of government land. Footpaths, passageways, green belts and public spaces have also been restored at several locations.

Anti-encroachment operations are continuing in various markets, residential sectors and service roads of Islamabad.

Officials said the campaign aims to protect valuable government land and property from illegal occupation, provide citizens with a better environment, improve traffic flow and discourage future encroachments.

The ongoing measures have also received appreciation from citizens, who said the indiscriminate enforcement of law and sustained operations would contribute significantly to restoring civic discipline and the beauty of Islamabad.

Officials said the campaign would continue on a permanent basis to ensure protection of government land and property and keep the federal capital free from encroachments.
