Anti-polio drive in Bannu from September 17

Peshawar: Bannu Commissioner Shaukat Ali Yousafzai has said that all available resources would be utilized to make the anti-polio campaign a success.

The drive is intended to save future generations from this contagious disease. To achieve this goal, the polio campaign from September 17 to September 21, 2021 should be made a success to achieve the desired goals.

This he said while chairing a meeting of anti police divisional task force at his office.

On this occasion, Deputy Commissioner Lakki Marwat Iqbal Hussain, Deputy Commissioner Bannu Muhammad Zubair Khan Niazi, Deputy Commissioner North Waziristan, Country Director of Anti-Polio, Programme, District Police Officer Bannu Imran Shahid, District Police Officer Lakki Marwat Imran Khan, Health Department officials, Pak Army’s Relevant officers and officers of other departments were also present.

Commissioner Yousafzai said that it has become inevitable to achieve the goals of the anti-polio campaign and remove every obstacle in its path. These include increasing the number of polio workers, strengthening the security situation, making polio vaccine accessible to every child and eradicating the polio virus.

Relevant polio officers from Bannu, Lakki Marwat and North Waziristan districts gave a detailed briefing to the authorities on the occasion. He lauded the ongoing efforts of the polio officers in achieving their successes.

The Commissioner stressed that the protection of polio workers by the security agencies is the top priority.

In addition, the district administration will meet all the needs and legitimate demands of the teams participating in the anti-polio campaign.

Later, the Commissioner formally launched the polio campaign by administering polio drops to a child.
