IHC summons interior secretary in non recovery of missing citizen Imran case

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) has directed interior secretary to appear before it in person in the petition filed against non recovery of citizen imran Khan who is missing since the last five years.

Petition filed by Nasreen Begum mother of Imran Khan came up for hearing before single bench of IHC led by Chief Justice (CJ) IHC Athar Minallah here Monday.

The CJ IHC ordered the interior secretary to appear before it in person on non implementation of court’s orders on payment of compensation to the family members of missing citizen Imran Khan on monthly basis.

The court had ordered to make payment of compensation to family members of missing citizen on monthly basis since 2015.

Deputy Attorney General (DAG) Syed Muhammad Tayyab Shah appeared in the court on behalf of the federation.

Col (Retd) Inam ul Rahim advocate represented the petitioner.

DAG said the interior ministry had written a letter to chief commissioner for payment of compensation,

CJ IHC remarked government is not only non complying with the court’s orders but is also committing contempt of Supreme Court’s orders. This matter is being handled in bureaucratic manner.

Col (Retd) Inam ul Rahim says Supreme Court has not given stay order to federation in this case.

The court while summoning interior secretary adjourned the hearing of the case till December 14.
