Japan envoy calls on Punjab governor

Lahore: Ambassador of Japan Wada Mitsuhiro on Friday called on Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar and discussed various issues including bilateral ties between the two countries.

Meanwhile, Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar also congratulated the Japanese Ambassador on the completion of 70 years of Pak-Japan diplomatic relations. According to details, Chaudhry Sarwar was called on by Ambassador of Japan to Pakistan, Wada Mitsuhiro at Governor House Lahore while discussions were also held on further enhancing bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and Japan in economic, trade, and investment sectors.

During the meeting, the Governor reiterated his commitment to expanding bilateral cooperation with Japan in the fields of economic, trade, development and investment and said that Pakistan gives great importance to bilateral relations with Japan based on mutual trust and understanding and Pakistan believes in better and friendly relations with the world.

The Governor said that the government of Pakistan under the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan has played its due role for peace in the whole region including Afghanistan and also made the most sacrifices in the region to eradicate terrorism.

Even today Pakistan stands for peace and peace in the region requires that the Kashmir issue be resolved in accordance with UN resolutions and the world plays its role for peace in Afghanistan.

The Japanese Ambassador in a meeting with Chaudhry Sarwar lauded the steps taken by Prime Minister Imran Khan for further strengthening relations with Pakistan and for strong leadership in supporting peace and stability in the region and the world.

Matters between the two sides on the export of manpower from Pakistan to Japan under the Technical Intern Training Program and Special Skilled Manpower Program are moving forward with success and we will stand by Pakistan in every difficult time.
